Giovanna Zinzalla

Giovanna Zinzalla is currently Assistant Professor in Chemical Biology at Karolinska Institutet (Stockholm, Sweden). She obtained her MChem (2000) and PhD in bioorganic & organometallic chemistry (2003) at the University of Milan (Italy). In January 2004 she was awarded a Marie Curie EIF Fellowship and carried out postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge (UK) with Professor Steven V. Ley. In June 2006 she joined the UCL School of Pharmacy (London, UK) as a Senior Research Fellow funded by Cancer Research UK (CR UK), within the CR UK unit headed by Professor David Thurston. In January 2012 she took up the faculty position at Karolinska Institutet as a junior group leader at the Centre for Advanced Cancer Therapies (ACT), MTC department. Her research focuses on the development of chemical approaches to understand and manipulate master regulators of transcription, in particular by modulation of their protein-protein interactions.
